#just look at tony’s face #fucking look at his expression #steve’s kind of just. staring #and tony’s fucking heartbroken #you can see it in his eyes. his heart? it’s broken #all over the fucking place

#because he knows what bruce means #I think that if tony wasn’t so damn stubborn and had that ‘there’s always a way out’ thing carved so deep inside of him #he would’ve killed himself as well #what do you think that his reckless behaviour means? #he’s got a deathwish largest than the god damned stark tower #so he understands bruce and not only on that feeling #but also on being looked at as if you were a threat #unable to control yourself #a mindless beast#because let’s face it #no one there ever assumes that tony actually has the intelligence he possess #they’re constantly pointing out his flaws and looking past his good intentions #just like they do with bruce #everyone sees the hulk and no one fucking waits to think that the guy is fucking mortified of what he’s turned into

I love this scene so much. Brilliantly acted. They’re like an old couple, and it could be a goofy moment, but Sherlock’s thoughtfulness and graveness in the face of the trial make it very poignant.

And I always shout the last sentence, laughing, to the TV. ;-)

“Are you listening TO ME?!”

#is there merit in saying I think Sherlock was pretty nervous in this and all the other stuff leading up to the trial? #I mean a lot of people have already commented upon how he didn’t snap at John that ‘of course I’m ready’ #I think Sherlock had confidence during the actual trial but #he’s so quiet the rest of the time #it’s not necessarily nerves about his having to appear there #I don’t think that’s it at all #but I think he’s worried about the fallout #I mean he knows that Moriarty’s only on trial because that’s a part of his game #and Sherlock doesn’t know what the game is yet but he knows this is it #this is where it’s going to end #he’s not surprised when Moriarty is acquitted #he knows Moriarty’s coming for him and he doesn’t know why or how but he knows it’s coming #he looks sad when he thinks John can’t see him #frailty of genius: attaining the closest thing to precognition that is possible for a human #closest thing to clairvoyance #but of course the future can’t be clearly seen by human eyes #so he doesn’t know #he knows it’s going to be bad #but he doesn’t know the details #and that sort of thing might have very well cost him his life #only one lucky moment of insight saved him from his ultimate fear: Moriarty in the darkness #we saw it in THoB #Moriarty and uncertainty #sherlock
